hi,i have found this site invaluable for and will continue to use it for its brilliant posts and knowledge of the people who use them. This time i need help, sorry if i have already posted last year but i have now booked hotel for my mums birthday and want to finanlise the other bits! Lucky for her the Strauss concert is on her birthday so i would like to book the hofburg imperial palace, through an agency, hotel or direct. She will be staying at K %26amp; K Therisa which i believe is walking distance to the palace. Next will be the spanish riding school, i have taken the link on previous post for details of booking-. Date of visit will be june 10-june 14. Thank you in advance

This is the website for the Hofburg concert
www.hofburgorchester.at/cms/index.php…
The website does not sell tickets but I expect you would be able to purchase them at your hotel. It%26#39;s free seating, so no particular need for advance booking.
I%26#39;ve not been to one of these concerts so I can%26#39;t comment on them - though looking at the website I would say they look quite expensive. I believe they are aimed chiefly at tourists. For that price, you might hear an opera or an operetta - if you were interested in such things, there are some fun performances on at the Volksoper at that time (www.volksoper.at) and also a variety of concerts at the Konzerthaus (www.konzerthaus.at)

We were recenlty in Vienna and attended the Hofburg symphony%26#39;s Christmas Night performance which was fantastic. We are not %26#39;symphony going%26#39; people but were swayed by the location and the guy (Igor) who was outside selling the tickets. We just bought them off the street inside the Hofburg right outside the Imperial Silver museum, nothing dodgy their office is located inside the complex and like he said %26#39;I%26#39;m standing in the home of the president so if I do anything it%26#39;s off to jail for me%26#39;. They sell the tickets at face value and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
There are so many people selling concert tickets on the street in Vienna, we bouht ours the night before the actual event. It was free seating so we just got there a half hour early and got great seats.
The performance had operatic singing etc with four women and two men and we thought what better place to see that than in Vienna.
Enjoy!
