Rome Hotels

I am flying into Rome for a ten day trip. We have never been to Italy. I am planning on 2 or 3 days in Rome. Then off to Tuscany. Is two days enough or do I need three in Rome? The hotel I was going to stay at (daphne Inn) is already booked. Please give me suggestions for Hotels in Rome? Thanks
