Hotel and transportation/Spiess

Hi,

thinking about staying at Spiess %26amp; Spiess, is easy to get to the Sudbanhof station from there? What is the better way (tram, subway)?

Any opinion about the hotel?

Thanks.

Regards from Madrid.

Probably the easiest way to S and S from Sudbahhof is a combination strassenbahn-( tram- streecar) and U-bahn ( subway)

Take strassenbahn O from Sudbahnhof to Marxergasse stop ( about 6th or 7th stop) walk a short distance back to the Landstrasse/ Wienmitte stop for public transport then take U-bahn U-3 in the direction Simmering 1 stop to Rochusgasse - look for signs for Hainburgerstrasse exit then a short walk 3 minutes to the hotel left side of street I think

Total trvel time is 15- 20 minutes.

Several other routes exist , including a longer walk , but the above is probably the easiest

A ticket costs 1,50 euro - you can purchase it at the Sudbahnhof in the automatic machines there.

Better bargain is the 24 hour ticket for 5 euro as you will need it to see sights.

Most reviews of Spies and Spiess are very good - living here I have never stayed there and can not give impression.

Only problem to me is the fact it is not directly in the city center.

But U-bahn takes you there in a few minutes.

A nice food and fruit market at the U-bahn stop Rochusgasse.

easiest would be tram O direction Praterstern, get off at Ungargasse. there either get on bus 4A direction Rotundenbrücke, get off at Hintzerstrasse, or walk but that would take approx. 10 minutes. depending how much luggage you%26#39;ll have I%26#39;d take the bus.

subway: tram 18 to Südtiroler Platz, there change into U1 go to Stephansplatz and there change into U3. but that%26#39;s kind of a long way around.

check out www.wienerlinien.at (public information) under tourist information they have an english timetable information. that programm finds you any route you%26#39;ll need and also does excellent maps of the stops with surrounding area.

did you check out their reviews here on tripadvisor ... guests seem to be very happy with that place and the location %26amp; area is certainly very convenient and nice.
