smoking in restaurants etc?

Can you tell me how much cigarettes cost in Salzburg and where you can buy them. Also are most restaurants, cafes and bars non-smoking?

thank you

Salzburg has lots of tobacconist kiosks (Tabac) and, unfortunately, most restaurants do allow smoking. Can%26#39;t help with prices.

Cigarettes are considerably cheaper than in the UK. I sometimes brought them back for friends; I think a pack of 200 was about 26 euros. Does that sound right to smokers?

Most bars, cafes and restaurants do allow smoking - yet generally people are polite and don%26#39;t wave their cigs around, hold them at arm%26#39;s length to set your hair alight, etc so I seldom get a snootful of smoke the way I often do in the UK, standing in bus queues or walking through building entrances! I encounter smokers much more often in Austria than the UK - but find it less irritating there than here.

rol, wheezy nonsmoker
