It%26#39;s a long way from the old town. I%26#39;d try to find somewhere closer.

We%26#39;ve just stayed here this weekend (Fri to Mon). Contrary to previous notes it%26#39;s not that far from %26#39;old town%26#39; at all. It is situated near to the train and bus station and there are regular buses into the main Salburg town area. However, we walked the route into town every day and it takes you past Mirabell Gardens and Mozart%26#39;s residence and plenty of nice coffee shops etc. It%26#39;s a 15 minute walk.
The reviews reflect a true representation of this friendly family run hotel

I%26#39;ve just used the Autoroute measure distance facility and from this hotel to Ferdinand Hanuschplatz (the beginning of the Altstadt) is one mile. I think that%26#39;s quite a long distance to walk after you%26#39;ve been walking round sightseeing all day, but buses are frequent so you could hop on the bus. The hotel district around the railway station and bus station is not a particularly nice part of town so I would still consider other options before making your final choice.
