Opera Reviews

Has anybody been to %26quot;Moses und Aron%26quot; at the state opera? Any comment on how it was? I have been reading very mixed reviews.

I also want to share something here that some people on this forum may find useful. I have been having a tough time finding reviews of operas in Vienna. I was looking for reviews in English. Finally I found a bunch of reviews on theoperacritic.com web site but they were in German and Italian. So I used the web page translation that %26quot;google%26quot; does and got access to the translation of the reviews rather easily. The translations are far from perfect but for me reading them is way better than starring at German words that I unfortunately don%26#39;t understand... Thought some may find this useful.

I suppose the same approach can be used for reading other non-English documents. I am not sure if google translation services does translation to other languages. Probably it does.

... and if there is a better way of getting access to English reviews of operas in Vienna, I would like to know. Thanks.

Hello Mike! Sadly I%26#39;ve had the same difficulty as you. I can%26#39;t offer an appreciation of %26#39;Moses und Aron%26#39; but their production of %26#39;Les Contes D%26#39;Hoffman%26#39; is superb.

Although I have yet to try it, perhaps it would be worth searching the websites of some of Vienna%26#39;s daily and weekly newspapers? Thanks for the link to the review site by the way. Not one I%26#39;m familiar with.
