Is mercure city hotel near the ring?Will i have to use public transportation or can i walk?

I assume you refer to the Hotel on Hollandstrasse in the 2nd District. An OK hotel.

Mercure is a well known chain of middle class hotels- usually well maintained and satisfactory staff.

The location is near a busy intersection- just beyond the First district and across the danube Canal. - a 2 minute walk to streetcars #1 and #2 that will take you completely around the Ring - thus it is a good and convenient location.

It is also near to the stop for bus# 2A that will take you in 3-5 minutes to city center- Hofburg Palace and also to the Ring near to the Fine Arts Museum.

Or you can walk in 10 minutes+- to Stephensdom - city center.

It is also near to the U- Bahn lines U-1 and U-4 .

From the Airport , you can take the transfer bus to Schwedenplatz - then a 5 minute walk to hotel. ( 6 euro)
