Snow yet ??

Can anyone report on the snow situation in Saalbach ?

Look to this website for up- to date information on snow and ski conditions.

Zwölferkogel has a lift open but this is only due to Saalbach having a World Cup Ski Race there this week and I am certain that all efforts go to this area to prepare it.

The website also shows weather prognosis and temperatures. Webcams really do not provide much help as a little snow will still look good but is not enough for skiing.

Nothing very favorable regarding weather except late night low temperatures permit use of snow cannons.

I was wondering about the canons too - when do they start using them to prepare slopes? What do the weather conditions have to be to enable the use of the canons?

snow cannons have now become regular thing at many resorts.

They need temperatures about freezing to begin work- I think some can be used at temperatures at +1 but colder is much better.
