I am planning a ski trip with my husband and two teenage boys in Feb. 2007, and I am leaning towards staying at the Grand Park Hotel in Bad Gastein. I can%26#39;t find much information on the hotel on tripadvisor....have you ever stayed there? Also, we are beginner and intermediate skiiers, is Bad Gastein a good place to go? We will be in Budapest prior and will be getting to Austria by car.

We have skied in Bad Gastein and it is a place of rather faded grandeur. I%26#39;m not sure how good it would be for beginners but it is fine for intermediates. The Ski club website is usually good for unbiased reviews - see www.skiclub.co.uk.
There are a number of unlinked ski areas so a car would be useful although there are ski buses.

4 ski areas within ten minutes %26quot;faded Grandeur%26quot; there are a few jaded properties but a lovely area with great runs we stay in bad hofgastein which we adore, ski buses are regular and taxis are cheap. went twice lastyear and back again for a wedding this year
