Christmas weather

Has anyone found information about weather forecasts for the days leading up to Christmas? We will be in Salzburg from December 22 to 26. We are so hoping for snow during that time.

It is unseasonally warm in Salzburg at the moment. We are going next week and had expected to see snow. So it%26#39;s anyone%26#39;s guess, I%26#39;m afraid.

Liz - have a wonderful time at the markets. We are going the 20th. I looked at the webcam of the Residenzplatz today and it is quite busy.

Thanks! Hope you have a great time too. The markets are heaving this afternoon if the Residenzplatz cam is anything to go by. Friday was the warmest December day in Salzburg since the Second World War!!! The Foehn winds are responsible, according to Salzburger Nachrichten (newspaper). Sales of Gluhwein are not going well :-) Two years ago we were there at this time. It was minus eight some of the time and the Gluhwein was flowing like crazy. The trees were white with frost even though there was no snow in the city. This weather is very frustrating. It seems as though we can%26#39;t predict it at all. You are more likely to get the snow than we are, I suspect :-)

Ooops! Sorry Thelrose, I repeated your comment about Residenzplatz being busy. I%26#39;ll blame hours of Christmas shopping and very little food!!!!

No problem - LOL. I know we will be having some Gluhwein just to just to experience the mood. I check the weather each morning and see it is even supposed to be warmer this week. It%26#39;s a shame but we are going to make the best of it as I%26#39;m sure you will too.
