Vienna in February...?

Hi,

I%26#39;m thinking about a long weekend in Vienna, probably in February.

Any ideas as to where we should stay and see whilst we%26#39;re there would be gratefully accepted. I have been to Vienna, but years ago when I went interrailing, and I would like to sleep somewhere more comfortable than that time when a park bench sufficed...!!

Also, is February a good time of year to go?

Chosun.

Years ago I spent several chilly February days in Vienna and enjoyed it immensely. Even better than our trip this summer. Big reason: No crowds. %26#39;Nother big reason: Opera, symphony and ballet.

Vienna is great in the winter. I appreciated the kaffee und kuchen much more in February than in July (especially during the heatwave). If it gets too cold to walk around, there are too many museums to choose from.

We stayed at the Pension Pertschy. Just okay. Might be better in the winter with the windows closed so you don%26#39;t hear the darn horses%26#39; clop-clop below. Next time we will stay more upscale.

The prior poster makes good comments in my opinion.

All tourist sights are open, but fewer tourists.

Excelent opportunities for music.

look to Vienna tourist website for good information for things to do - including hotels and restaurants
