New Year in St Wolfgang

I and my family (all adults) are going to St Wolfgang for New Year and were wondering if anyone had been there over this time before. Most of the reviews i have read say most people are in bed by 11/1130 so i was just wondering if that is typical in the summer months maybe but in winter especially new year is it the same. Any information is greatly appreicated. We are staying at the Zimmerbrau which gets great reviews so thats one good thing but any info about the place its self would be lovley. Thanks

Most locals go to private parties/dinners on NY and then perhaps hit the town after midnight. Therefore there could be the perception that the village is relatively quiet. This said, I was there last new year and there were 200+ people in the street unitl 2am. Most of the little huts (remaining from Advent) are in the street selling food, gluhwein and beer. There is dancing in the square outside hotel Post. Well I was dancing anyway! Most youngsters then head to Shooters or Grabowski. Kap Horn is open until the late hours usually. You can have fun in Wolfgang over NY and to clear the head get up early and get the bus to the Post Alm for a ski/board and a long lunch.

You will enjoy the Zimmerbrau. We will be there at Christmas for our third visit.
