I haven%26#39;t been to Mayrhofen, when are you going to Zell, what sort of things do you like doing?
Summer - Lake - swimming, boat rental, big boat round the lake, cable car up the mountain, walk round the lake, cycle hire - good flat path round the lake, indoor ice rink, can%26#39;t think of anything else at the mo.

Zell can be one of the busiest resorts in Austria but it does depend when you go - we went last year and made our trip at the same time the Harley festival was on at nearby Hinterglemm.
A tip would be to visit the websites of Zell and other resorts to see what they have on and when.
For instance Kitzbuhel is massively busier druing the Tennis Open and the Alpen Car Rally than it is for other times and Zell is the same.
I would agree with others in that Zell has more options than Mayerhofen

forget going in the summer, just go in the winter, then you can ski or snowboard instead of mountain biking. feb is the best month to go !
