Anyone out there been affected by flight delay or cancellation to Salzburg? My thoughts are with you. Hope everything works out...soon

I sincerely hope this fog doesn%26#39;t delay anyone%26#39;s trip to Salzburg. We were once diverted to Linz because of fog at Salzburg. Of course it was all dealt with efficiently and we were swiftly transported from Linz to Salzburg free of charge. At this end I don%26#39;t feel so optimistic but let%26#39;s hope it clears soon.

Hi there,

we were out in salzburg 3rd December and we had to divert because of fog in salzburg. They have a few problems with early morning fog at this airport due to the mountains and being so close to the river. We were in a holding pattern for 30 minutes and then the captain had to divert to Munich which was a further 15 minutes flying time. The idea was to coach us from Munich back to Salzburg which would have been a 2 hour journey. However, by the time we had landed, the fog had lifted in Salzburg, so we waited 40 minutes on the ground for refuelling ...and then flew back to Salzburg. A journey which should have been 1 hour 50 minutes, was 4 hours !! never mind, we got there in the end...think it very much depends on the time of day of your flight as to whether you hit problems or not. As an Ex-trolley dolly myself, I am used to this sort of thing...but it is a pain when you only there for a couple of days. Good luck, fingers crossed for you.

We were delayed coming back from Salzburg, as our Heathrow bound flight was cancelled twice.

In the end we gave up and got the train all the way back to London!
