Flight from Innsbruck to Vienna

Is there flights from Innsbruck to Vienna. I have only found expensive business class flights on Austrian Air. I will be travelling in June 2007 and would rather fly than go by train all that way.

The complete flight schedule departing from Innsbruck airport is quite short

I assume you have queried a oneway flight, which are normally much more espensive than return connections. If requesting a R/T flight, you may expect prices starting at 150€. As you intend travelling in June 2007, availability of lowest prices should be good. Train doesn%26#39;t require return booking to be eligible for discounts, and arrives in Vienna within 5 - 6 hours.

Numerous flights daily(5-6 ) by Austrian Air . They have economy fares.

Look to their red ticket prices- depending on when you fly as low as 90 euro inclusive

I think you will be as fast by train, save money and save our environment!

Both railway stations, Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof and Wien Westbahnhof are next to the city center, no need for expensive transfers!

Trains take between 4:45h and 5 hours. A one-way ticket 2nd class is € 51,80, discount for 2 passengers or more travelling together, even if you just buy the ticket before you go. No need to buy in advance... just go to the station and get tickets from the counters or ticket machines (touch screen, multilingual, accept cash and all credit cards)... so very comfortable and VERY easy!

I think, most people who use Innsbruck-Vienna flights do connections at Vienna Airport...

For timetables, just have a look at:

And the cheap Austrian Airlines red-tickets are only available on return flights...

Thanks for the information. It looks like we might just catch the train. I imagine the scenery between Innsbruck and Vienna would be pretty spectacular viewed from the train anyhow. Do I have to change trains in Salzburg?

|||

No, as you can see on the internet timetable, most trains run direct!

Just enter: From: Innsbruck To: Vienna

Some parts of the journey do have nice views, some are only high-speed line without much view.

The scenery is impressive between Innsbruck and Salzburg, thereafter it%26#39;s very changing. In Upper Austria (=state) you see a lot of industrial premises along the railtrack. The landscape is moreless flat until St.Pölten. Between St.Pölten and Vienna it gets more hilly.
