Hello all - we are coming to St Johann in June and want to travel the area by train including Milan or Venice or Paris and everything in between. From experience, things don%26#39;t look as far away on the map so we need help from those who have been there before us. 1 is a seasonsed traveler and 1 is not but both full of energy...what should we do, how can we plan our trip, what%26#39;s there, what%26#39;s a waste and what isn%26#39;t, what%26#39;s some of %26quot;off the beaten path%26quot; kinda stuff?
Thanks

Well to start you could go onto the Austrian trains website http://www.oebb.at and have a look at the destinations or you could go onto google images and have a look at an Austrian trains map or Europe trains map
Venice is not too far from Innsbruck maybe 5 hours if I remember correctly (its been a while since I did the trip!) The trains are great and there is a train to Milan from Venice that takes about four hours I think.
Takes a little longer to get to paris (we didnt go that far) and I think you have one or 2 changes on the trains and I think it takes 11 hours from Innsbruck.
Its definatly worth visiting a few small Austrian mountains villages aswell
Hope this helps a little

Thanks for the input - saw something in Rick Steves over the weekend and he also mentioned Bellagio, Lake Cuomo, Veranno, etc - any suggestions?
