Can anyone advise me as to how often this bus departs central Vienna, from where it departs, how much a one-way trip costs and how tickets can be booked for the service?

you can book the bus only together with the ticket on the Sky Europe Home page. Price one 10 Euros + 50 center fee
No time table on the SkyEurope page
alternatively you can use the Eurolines/Blaguss bus which goes frequenlty
