Help for Kitzbuehel

Can anybody tell me the current skiing conditions in Kitzbuehel? Is there anough snow for skiing. As for the snow reports the level is very low. The hotels say that people are skiing but...

Thanks a lot...

I do not believe all that the merchants say in the Grand Bazaar.

Words of the hotels should be taken in the same context. They want you to visit.

Yes, some skiing in Kitz - but not that great- no snow in town at all.

Skiing at higher levels.

Remember that the Hahnenkamm ski races occur at the end of January. Snow making will concentrate on that area in coming days when temperatures permit.

Kitzbuehel , unfortunately is at a lower altitude than many other resorts and this can cause problems.

look for yourself on the webcams on the Kitz website.

Also look at weather prognosis on same site.- not that great

Obertauern and Arlberg ( Lech Zurs ) have much more snow.

Thanks a lot for the helpful information.

Next time you come to Grand Bazaar, let%26#39;s have a tea :)

I would enjoy that!

Fenerbache or Galatasaray? Hope spelling is correct!

FENERBAHCE of course...

I do not know the other team you mentioned the name :) ) )

Happy to see that you do not know Cim Bom-

We made reservations for the end of January in Kitzbuhel but we are worried about the snow/skiing conditions. Can anybody recommend a resort with better skiing condition close to Kitzbuhel and can be reached from Munich airport, in case we need to switch???

Also any update on skiing condition in Kitzbuhel?

Thank you in advance...

Just got back from Kitz on Friday, there is slow on most of the upper slopes. The whole valley has a free skibus service, we went 10 mins down the road to Kirchburg and up the Fleckalmbahn lift, loads more snow here than Hahnenkamm or the Horn.

As people have said before it is the race at the end of Jan....so could be very very busy.

For good value food and drink and a great atmosphere go to the Restaurant Zinnkrug on Graggaugasse, when you walk into the town you go over a road, thier will be a glass lift, restaurant is opposite the lift. The tables will almost always be full, but just say to the waiter that you will eat at the bar. The atmosphere of this place is great and you will end up just chatting to the various people also sitting at the bar, also the longer you stay and drink the more free drinks you get. The staff here are great.

Also in respect to bars....stay clear of the main street as prices get high.

The alpine restaurant at the top of Hahnenkamm is a bit more expensive with waiter service etc, whereas the restuarants at the top of the Horn is self service and cheaper.

Also a visit to the Igloo village in the valley of Ehrenbachhohe and Steinbergkohel is worth a visit for a drink in the ice bar (vodka shots at 3 Euro, Gluwein at 2.5 Euro), and is you fancy it stay over night in a igloo at 90 Euro each.....to get to this take the Fleckalmbahn up from Kirchberg, then ski down route 18 and you will see the Igloos. If you are not a skier you can still walk, go up the Flechalmbahn, then start walking down the hill toward the cafe/restuarant, go round the front of and you will see a path going down, takes about 20 mins to get down and 40 back up (no allowed to use the lift).

Hope this helps (been her a few times if you have any other questions)
