vienna to prague for a few days

My husband and I would like to go to Prague, but are uncomfortable about going on our own. Can you suggest a tour company or group that we could join in Vienna for a 3 or 4 day trip to Prague? It must be a group that is oriented to using English.

If not, how about hiring a car and driver. Too outrageously expensive?

Why don%26#39;t you just catch a train? It%26#39;s so easy and much cheaper than hiring a car. A driver will be very expensive!

Hi SPC,

I saw Prague city tours in Vienna agents before but most of them offer just 2 days 1 night tour or as part of the central Europe tours (Prague %26amp; Budapest). These travel agent infos can be obtained from hotels.

Since a city tour is usually done within half a day, joining a longer tour normally involves travelling to other parts of Czech Republic and you may have limited freedom to explore places on your own.

The most cost effective way is to take a train from Vienna to Prague and arrange transfer to your prefered hotel and do a half day guided city tour.

I suggest you create a post in Prague forum to ask for a reputable inbound tour agents. Free %26amp; Easy package is usually possible with these inbound agents arranging transfers to hotel (Prague%26#39;s cab scam is notorious) and a half day city tour with choices of accommodation.

Once you get orientation of the city, it%26#39;s quite easy and safe to scroll around on your own.

The following is a tour agent which may give you a quotation.

Alternatively, you can book hotel in Prague and get them organise the transfer from train station and a half day city tour.

You might consider Austrian Airlines - they have a package deal called %26#39;City Steals%26#39; that you can research on their website.

My family and I used this plan to visit Prague and Vienna in November of 2005. Austrian Air has direct flights to Vienna from JFK and Washington, DC. The price includes 3 nights hotel accomodation in Prague. You fly into Vienna, then change planes and go to Prague. The hotel could help you with local tours. The prices of the whole package is very reasonable and you can expect that the hotels that Austrian Air partners with will be good. We were very please with our hotel (Hotel Alfa).

You can check my posting about the hotel on the Prague forum.

Good luck!
