Opinions on K&T boarding house vienna

Hi all, We%26#39;re travelling to Vienna in May 2007. Wondering if anyone has stayed at K%26amp;T boarding house? It%26#39;s reccomended in Rick Steves book, seems to be in reasonably good postition and fair price. Also any hints on weather this time of year? Grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance.

It located very centrally on Mariahilferhilfer Strasse good for shopping and you very fast in the city with the U3 or at the Narschmarkt with the bus 13A.

You can take the bus from the Airport till Westbahnhof and then take the U3 till Neubaugasse or you take the CAT till Wien Mitte and again the U3 till Neubaugasse

My husband and I stayed at the K%26amp;T boarding house abt two years ago in the August and the weather was fine although changable but I didnt have to wear jumpers or anything.

The K%26amp;T is very clean, the beds are comfortable although firm and there is tea and coffe making facilities there.

Esther was the girl that cleaned the rooms and she was so helpful telling us how to get to the shops and also the market that was only a street away.

You can have the use of an iron so you do have all of the comforts of home.

I must tell you that the entrance isnt on the main road, you have to go in via a gate into a communial passageway and climb up about three flights of stairs as there isnt a lift but as I said the rooms are very clean and the people are very welcoming.

there is a bookshop of the dubious kind on level one but you wouldn know it was there unless your told, it is very discreet.

Vienna is a magnificent city and we are going back again in August 2007 and we will be staying at the K%26amp;T again so I guess you could say that we recommend it.

Enjoy your holiday
