ski holiday for 30th birthday, New Year 2007-2008...HELP

Hi,

I want to take my boyfriend skiing for his 30th birthday next new year but am getting really confused as there are so many places to go. I%26#39;ve never skied in the alps having been to bulgaria, slovenia, slovakia and scotland. I want to take him somewhere a bit %26quot;posher%26quot; for his birthday but can%26#39;t afford to really splash out.

He is a much better skier than me and can ski pretty much anything on piste just now. I am just getting happy on reds but will be skiing for at least 3 weeks this year so hope to be a lot better by next new year!

I can get cheap flights to munich with easyjet and we prefer staying in self catering apartments to hotels. I have looked at Kitzbuhel but am not sure the skiing will be %26quot;special%26quot; enough while St Anton, which I have read has excellent skiing, I%26#39;m worried would be too hard for me.

Excellent skiing for him is the main criteria but I don%26#39;t want to be too scared to do all the runs myself. Also somewhere where food on the slopes doesn%26#39;t cost the earth ie. 30 euros is not my idea of a cheap lunch!

HELP!

I think i have decided on St Anton and have found a nice apartment in Nasserein, art apartment. Can anyone advise how handy this is for skiing?

Thanks,

Lynsey
