All,
I am looking for first hand human experiences %26amp; feedback/suggestions with where to go and what to see and hear in Vienna for this first time visitor - musician of piano, organ and voice? I have heard of great music festivals and while I have no firm dates a spring or fall visit is preferred. Please send me your experiences and help plan my trip. Thanks

Much for the resident of Vienna or the visitor to experience regarding good music. Something for every music taste.
Numerous music festivals but no need to visit just then to experience your wishes.
A warning - numerous tourist oriented music concerts are available.
A serious lover of music should avoid them. Too many other more serious and higher quality venues exist.
Look at the following websites for information and events.
www.musikverein.at
Home of the Wiener Philharmonic-
several halls and many nights offer several different performances.
also playing there
Wiener Symphoniker and Tonkünstler Orchester perform there too -also high quality
April 22 - a piano concert by Rudolph Buchbinder
www.konzerthaus.at
high quality also
Opera and Operetta
www.volKsoper.at
www.staatsoper.at
All the above will list events by month and a short description. These are all quality venues and offer good music experiences depending on your likes.
the Musikverein has a Spring Festival in April 2007.
Tickets available on- lne.
Many Churches offer organ concerts on a regular basis. Some free - some by donation-
Augustiner Kirche ( Church) offers very high quality often by premier performers.
Good place to find listing of events by day and month
www.info.wien.at
click on english then to events- you can limit search to your interests.
One new Music festival, I look forward to-
The Grafenegg Music Festival- End of August into September.
www.grafenegg.at
in english too.
I have attended many concerts here in past years.Always of high quality and interesting.
They now build a new outdoor stage directly in the castle park. A beautiful setting. At the pause, a nice walk in the park with a glass of wine to add to the music.
Rudolph Buchbinder will be Music Director- London Symphony- among others. including an evening with Mehta conducting the Israel Orchestra.
About 45 minutes from Vienna- a bus from Musikverein to Grafenegg will be available for attendees.
A spring or fall visit will offer good opportunities.
Happy to assist if you wish more information.
