My husband and I are thinking of taking the train from Prague to Vienna and spending 2 nights there.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where we should visit? Also, what is the best restaurant that offers great Viennese food?

So much to see in Vienna- your post does not mention your interests so I offer some of the most frequented sights.
Also very helpful is the Tourist website
www.info.wien.at
much information available there.
In city center many sights are clustered and this is very helpful to tourist with limited time.
Hofburg Palace- home to the Emperors for centuries.
Open daily - audio guides available - royal apartments - very interesting.
In the same complex
the Schatzkammer - Royal Treasury ( closed tuesday) Emperors crowns, Holy Roman Emperor crowns, Golden fleece, many robes and ceremonial trappings.
The library and also Spanish Riding School within 5 minutes walk in Hofburg complex.
much more info at the following
www.hofburg-wien.at
www.khm.at ( for schatzkammer)
Across the Ringstrasse from the Hofburg is the Fine Arts Museum
one of the finest art collections in the world.
They are open Thursday evenings until 9- not many tourists and helps those with limited time in the city to see more.
www.khm.at
Also %26quot; Must See%26quot;
Schonbrunn Palace-
the former summer palace- at one time in the country - now the city surrounds it.
Beautiful rooms, perfect garden different tour sizes available ( number of rooms.)
The garden is a perfect place for a few minutes rest too.
www.schoenbrunn.at
The above can easily take 1 1/2 days.
As Vienna has such a history of music - perhaps a concert or opera depending on the time of your visit too
Many good restaurants to choose- most will offer good food
one of my favorites- in city center
Pürstner
www.puerstner.com
menu and directions on their site
Enjoy your short visit!

Have just got back from 4 days in vienna. i would recommend
The tower in donau park, I cant remember the name but you%26#39;ll see it quite easy, i believe there is a revolving resturant with great views. Its just a few stops on the underground from the centre on town.
Stephansdom catherdral,
Schonbrunn palace, Its a bit further out of town but well worth a visit, its grounds are massive, includes the worlds oldest zoo.

The %26quot; tower in donau park%26quot; is called the Donau Turm. A relic from an exposition of 40 + years ago.
It is not really near to the U-bahn but needs a bus ride or a relatively long walk to reach after departing the U-bahn station.
With limited sightseeing time, much better things to experience in Vienna in my opinion.
