Hi Marie943,
I am not sure if you are planning to stay in Brastilava or Austria. The former is not an attractive city which you can cover on foot within a day. The city center is compact, a bit like Prague but without grand buildings. The city is as cheap as Prague and Vienna prices are mostly on par with those of the UK.
The sea of communist flats on the opposite bank of the old town is very depressing. Luckily, you don%26#39;t have to go there for sightseeing.
If you are taking no frill airlines, there should be shuttle from the airport to Vienna.
Vienna is an hour away from Brastilava%26#39;s bus and train station. Depending on the time of travel, bus is usually faster than train as it is direct from both cities%26#39; main bus station.

If you are on budget, you can stay in Brastilava and visit Vienna on a day trip. It is a magnificent city with many things within walking distance.

Thank you for your reply.
I am quite happy to stay in Vienna,if that is the best use of our time, unless you have other ideas?

Hi Marie943,
Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. You can find cheap accommodation in city centre. Please look under the Vienna forum as most posts are similarly about accommodation, sightseeing and restaurant options. Vienna however is not a place for clubbing as alcohol is relatively expensive and the party mood is not present.
You can spend half day in Brastilava to look around the old town before heading home.

Thanks,we are not clubbers so Vienna should be fine. Can somone tell me how long the shuttle would be from Bratislava airport to Vienna. We may be flying with ryanair

Hi Marie,
The Terravision coach takes 90 minutes to reach Vienna (Euro 8 one way). The following is the web site.

You will be able to search and book ticket online .
