Driving Itnerary

Am considering flying in May to, say, Munich or Salzburg, renting a car and flying out of, say, Milan, 9 days later.

I hear that places such as Salzburg, Innsbruck, Zel am See and Lake Como are must-sees. Also heard the Landhaus Zu Appesbach in St. Wolfgang is a worthy hotel.

Interested in reading any advice on suggested itnerary, how long to stay in any place and any recommendations for 4 or 5 star hotels. We are not big on cities, (e.g., places like Barcelona, Prague and Budapest we covered in a couple of days).

We are interested in architecture and natural scenery, but not art and sculpture. (Also seen our fair share of abbeys and cathedrals.)

I was looking for a post similar to our plan. We are flying to Munich, picking up a new car [purchasing there saves you $$] and then driving to Milan. I am still researching this trip of ours. We are traveling with our 2 girls, 8%26amp;11 yo. Like you I am interested in the scenery. There is a park [race track too] in Milan we found out about....It is very greeeeeen. I%26#39;ll keep looking for info. We are going 3/30-4/7.
