Hello Hostan :
Ischgl
80 cm. in ski area
30 cm in valley
almost every lift open.
www.ischgl.com
will give weather, snow conditions and good info. Webcams will provide good look too.
This is a real apre ski party place too.
Obertauern
100 cm. in mountain
70 cm. in town
www.obertauern.com
again good info on weather , snow levely including webcams.
Obertauern was one of the first places to open this year and continues with good snow levels in a bad year.
Both places much better than Kitz.
Weather prognosis does not look extra good next week for chance of snow or good snow making condition.
I have business to do in salzburg next week and was going to go onward for a few days in the mountains too ski- will still go.
Traffic to and from valley can be heavy on a weekend.

Thank you again for your kind information. Last year we were in Ischgl at the same dates, the conditions and the pists were perfect. It will be our first time in Obertauern, we hope we do not have any frusturation comparing to Ischgl. If you compare Ischgl and Obertauern at overall level, what do you think ? We will be upset ?
Best regards. :)

Hello Hostan:
My third attempt to post this answer- each time it is lost - I do a little then post and come back again with more.
Last year was exceptional for skiing - almost perfect- so any comparison is hard .
I try to give some information
Ischgl a super ski place.- much bigger than Obertauern
Ischgl 1400- 2900 meters
Obertauern 1700-2600 meters
high enough to usually permit good snow
Ischgl probably 2 times the skiable terrain more middle ski terrain ( red) and much more expert ( black ) edge to Ischgl.
Obertauern more easy terrain ( blue ) much less red than Obertauern.
Ischgl has many more lifts ( of course more skiers too.) Nice skiing to Samnaun in Swiss from Ischgl. Cable cars too.

continuing-
Both places offer a good range of hotels.
Ischgl is more of an international resort. A little harder to get to than Obertauern.
Many young austrians go to Obertauern from Vienna and Salzburg.
Both have good mountain situations.
Ischgl probably a little more expensive.
While Obertauern has a good nightlife- nothing like the non stop parties in Ischgl.
More resorts closer to Obertauern- Schladming, Dachstein to offer ski variety if you want it.
In summary, if you want a nice place for a change Obertauern, less known to many, is a good place if you are satisfied with easier skiing.
If Ischgl was great for you - you will probably spend much time comparing the two places and say Ischgl was nicer.
But just my biased opinion.

Hostan- I just return from some days in Salzburg area on business - managed a little skiing too.
Obertauern was one of the stops- probably best skiing in the area.
Foggy in the valley- but cleared on the way up to Obertauern- snow was generally good- many people - a little snow in town. - some places in lower areas like Flachau have some problems at lower levels.
