Ann advice on family friendly places to stay and things to do for a day in february?

A trip up to the fortress is always a good one. The funicular railway is great and the fortress itself is quite exciting for children as it is so old with lots of nooks and crannies, and the marionette musuem is up there. There are restaurants on the fortress too. The museum called Haus der Natur in the old city is supposed to be excellent. Hellbrunn, just outside the city (take bus no. 25) has a zoo.
