Neustift in March

My wife and I went to Kitzbuhel for skiing in Feb 02 and had a wonderfull time. Due to time constraints we can only be in Austria by 21 March this year.

We would like to go to a nice resort and be sure of snow, for skiing, so late in the season. I know it is a bit of a trade off ,as most of the more well known resorts can not guarantee snow that late, but offers a good town vibe. Does Neustift offer the same as eg Kitz or Zell am See?

Is Neustift a good place to go to for good skiing and town vibe in March? My concern is that ski may be limited there and one would have to extensive travel everyday travel to the Glacier for skiing. I would like to hear others suggestions as well.

I would appreciate your inputs.

Hi,

Although we aren%26#39;t skiers, we passed through Neustift in April 2005. It didn%26#39;t seem like much to us, but then we pretty much just stopped to use an ATM and go into a supermarket on our way to the Stubai Glacier. It was the last week of April and it was a nice spring day in Innsbruck, but a snowstorm at the base of the Stubai Glacier (cable car station) and filled with skiiers.

As an alternative, I can highly recommend Soelden, in the Oetz valley. A very pretty town, with a river running through it, located in a gorgeous valley. We stayed here a few years ago and loved it.
