We%26#39;re flying to Salzburg in the first week of April. We would like to stay in the countryside somewhere convenient for public transport, maybe going into Salzburg just for the day. Any ideas for a suitable resort would be welcome. We would like a village location where we can stay in a family-run guest house.

Hotel Doktorwirt in Aigen is just fifteen minutes by bus from the city and is situated at the foot of the Gaisberg mountain. It is a family run hotel with an excellent restaurant. Aigen is not a resort, however, just a smart suburb. Perhaps Fuschl am See might be good as it%26#39;s on a lake, within the Salzkammergut region, but only about twenty-thirty minutes by bus from Salzburg.
