We are flying into Salzburg for four days and then picking up a rental car to drive to Vienna. We will be staying at the Hotel Ambassador which does have parking at 28.00 euro a day. However they also charge 6 euros everytime you get your car out of the lot. Is there a cheaper option for us. We wanted a car to explore some of the beautiful countryside around Vienna and Sazburg. Thanks for your help.

Simple solution-
Take the train from Salzburg to Vienna- frequent and fast service ( less than 3 hours travel)
The Ambassador does not have an in-house car garage for guests to my knowledge but uses a public parking garage not immediately next to the hotel- The hotel is on a busy square in the central part of the city - not an easy place for a first time visitor to find.
Rent a ca only when you want to make trips outside of each city. In Vienna, major rental companies have downtown sites within easy walking distance of the Ambassador- Avis on the Ring just across from the State Opera House is the closest- 5 minutes walk.
