Salzburg to Munich

Salzburg to Munich.

Please can someone advise me to whether a day trip between Salzburg and Munich is feasible. Is it via train and how long would it take.

Also is there enough to do in Salzburg for a four night break?

I%26#39;m hoping to take my %26quot;elderly%26quot; parents there in March and my Dad is not very mobile, so would it be an appropriate city?

Much appreciated in anticipation

We just did this trip over Christmas. It%26#39;s a pretty easy trip actually. Depending on the train you catch (and how much you want to pay), the trip can be anywhere from 1.5 to about 2 hours - just depends on how many stops they make along the way. Prices are anywhere from about 20 - 30 euros.

Personally, I would say that four nights in Salzburg might be a bit much. I know that there are day trips, etc., and it is without question a beautiful city/venue, but it%26#39;s a relatively small town (the historic part anyway) and you%26#39;ll be walking up and down the same streets a hundred times. I guess it just depends on your patience/interest level.

On the flip side, because it is a small, very intimate town, I would imagine that it would be perfect for someone who had mobility issues. The highlights are grouped pretty closely, and you only hve to cross over the bridges to get from the town to the gardens, theaters, etc. The #1 and #3 buses will take you right from the train station to the historic city centre
