Arriving Thursday - a few quick questions please

Hi All,

Arriving Thursday with my Parents - stopping at the Cordial Theatreand booked voa Yeego - will report back with comments later.

Anyway - looking to possibly get the Salzburg Card but trying to add up if its really worth it for what we will do and have the following bus related questions if anybody could confirm as I%26#39;m just not too sure of the translations from the Stadbus website:

Would the single trip cost on the No2 Bus from the airport to Bayerhamerstasse (short walk from Hotel) be 1.80/eur with the Driver ?

What would be the single trip cost on the No 25 Bus to St Leonard be for the Untersburg Cable car (weather permitting !) - is it still 1.80 ?

How much would a 24 hour Bus ticket be ?

Many thanks in advance for the info.

Yes, the single trip on the no. 2 bus would cost 1.80 euros if you bought the ticket from the driver or from one of the automatic machines, one of which can be found at the airport bus stop.

A 24-hr ticket (stamp it on first use in the wee yellow box you%26#39;ll find on a pole inside the bus) costs 3.40 euros if you buy it from an automatic machine or tobaccanist, or 4.20 euros if you buy it from the driver.

I%26#39;m a bit addled about the Untersberg trip because I think the St Leonhard bit throws you off the trail ...

Most services on Bus 25 will take you to the Untersbergbahn (final stop, and it will probably be written on the front of the bus) The stop is called %26quot;Grödig Untersbergbahn%26quot; on some websites and %26quot;St Leonhard Untersbergbahn%26quot; on others. Just to confuse you. According to the Salzburg Regional Bus website, the journey costs 1,80 euros (which I presume means it is in the Kernzone so the Salzburg card will cover it too). This is the website for the cable car: http://members.aon.at/untersbergbahn/

This is the website I used to get the tariff information (this site calls it Grödig Untersbergbahn)

Hope that helps!

Hi Roley,

Yes - even the 25 Route/Timetable seems to vary slightly with the names - see www.stadtbus.at/content.php?id=1165%26linie=25

Looking at the associated timetable it has it down as %26quot;Grödig Untersbergbahn%26quot; - the extra stops to %26quot;RIF%26quot; only appear to be run on several services early evening.

Thanks for that too.

Cheers

Just an update to Roley%26#39;s post - we had a Salzburg card and used it to go to the Untersberg, but as it is outside of the city limits you have to pay a bit extra on the bus - I forget how much it was exactly but iy was cents rather than euros.

Roley is right about the bus to Untersburg. We inquired at the info center when we wanted to go and they said to get off at St. Leonhard, yet the timetable never had St. Leonhard on it and the bus did say Grodig Untersbergbahn. We ask ed the driver just to make sure and he said yes, that was where he was going.

Just come back from a very good weekend and managed a trip up the Untersburg on Saturday - nice day.

We caught the #25 from outside the Rathaus but must confess never considered checking with the driver as to how far the Salzburg Card might take us. Just jumped on and enjoyed the trip there (and back). We didn%26#39;t pay any extra - Oooppss !

We also used the Card earlier this morning to get back to the airport - we were 9 mins over our 72 Hours. Please don%26#39;t tell anyone :-)
